Embrace the Grace

Embrace the Grace

You may be as good as gold, but are you as good as God?

You may think you're really bad, but is your sin bigger than God?

God freely gives us His love and grace. We just have to receive it. We can't earn it, we don't deserve it and we can't ever become good enough for it, but God still pours out His love and grace upon us. Even people who think they're really bad can still receive forgiveness from God if they are truly sorry repent from their sins.

'"I do not set aside the grace of God, for if righteousness could be gained through the law, Christ died for nothing!"' Galatians 2 v 21 (NIV).

'In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God's grace that he lavished on us with all wisdom and understanding.' Ephesians 1 v 7-8 (NIV).

How do we embrace God's grace?

As the sayings go 'Nobdy's perfect!' and 'I'm only human!' This would state that everyone recognises that we are imperfect and that we make mistakes and wrong decisions.

The Bible clearly says we've all sinned - in thought, in things we've said and in things we've done.

None of us is as good as God.

Jesus Christ commands us to repent. This means we must turn away from our sin. Don't worry! Jesus knows that you won't be perfect. You need to ask Jesus to forgive you your sins and accept that Jesus was punished for your sins, so that you can go free! He then becomes your Saviour and your righteousness!

You also need to ask Jesus to become Lord of your life. You do this by inviting Jesus to be in charge of everything in your life. You will not be perfect! You will still have your own free will, but as you grow in your love for Jesus your desire will be to please Him more and more. He has promised in the Bible to give you all that you need to live for Him. He will also give you His Holy Spirit!

If you're not sure or don't yet believe, I would encourage you to start reading the Bible. If you have read any of the verses on this page, you have already started.

'Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word of Christ.' Romans 10 v 17 (NIV).

Why not be open minded and pray this prayer:

Lord Jesus Christ,
If You are real, please let me know how much You love me. As I draw close to You, come and draw close to me.
Amen.

'Come near to God and he will come near to you.' James 4 v 8 (NIV).

If you are ready to receive God's wonderful salvation, His forgiveness and eternal life pray this prayer, right now, right where you are. Just say these words out loud, whisper them under your breath or say them quietly in your heart:

Dear Lord Jesus,
Thank you for dying for me on the cross. Please forgive me all my sins. I turn away from the things in my life that don't please You. Come into my life now. Come and live in my heart. Be my Lord and Saviour, my Master and my Friend. Help me to live the rest of my life for Your glory.
Amen.

If you prayed this prayer for the first time, the angels in heaven are rejoicing and having a party!

Jesus himself said:
'"In the same way, I tell you, there is rejoicing in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents."' Luke 15 v 10 (NIV).

Jesus now lives in your heart.

'Jesus replied, "If anyone loves me, he will obey my teaching. My Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him."' John 14 v 23 (NIV).

Just like the verse above, there are many promises in The Bible which apply to people who follow Jesus Christ. If you've just commited your life to Jesus Christ, here is another one of the many promises which now apply to you:

'For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.' Romans 8 v 38-39 (NIV).
